Using SevenHelp

SevenHelp is a wiki-based Series 7 site which means that our information is contributed, edited and updated by an active community of users like yourself. The following section covers some basic information on Site Policies and Usage.

Site Policies

In order to maintain a comprehensive and accurate body of Series 7 information, we encourage our users to adhere to three basic policies:

1. No Original Research. Original research is information that has NOT been published already by a reputable source (e.g. Series 7 texts). Unpublished theories, data, statements, concepts, arguments, and ideas are considered original research and should not be posted.

2. Cite Your Sources. Citing sources serves several purposes:

To ensure that the content of articles is credible and can be checked by any reader or editor.
To enhance the overall credibility of SevenHelp.
To show that your edit isn't original research.
To reduce the likelihood of editorial disputes any that arise.
To credit a source for providing useful information..
To provide more information or further reading.

Citing your source is as simple as providing the name of the book, author (year published or version), page number. For example:

Passtrak Series 7, Dearborn (8th edition), pg 124

3. No Copyrighted Materials. SevenHelp strictly prohibits the posting of any copyrighted materials.

How to Use SevenHelp

SevenHelp allows any user to contribute, edit and update topics and articles on the system. The good news - it’s simple to use!

On the top right of every page, you’ll see four options: View, Edit, History, and Print.

- “View” and “Print” simply allow you to view and print a page.
- “History” will show you past edits made by other users.
- “Edit” allows you to edit an article yourself. At the bottom of each edit page you’ll find some basic editing tips. Want an advanced lesson on editing? Click here.
